Red Alert: We are not alone

Posted by Clare Curran on October 18th, 2009

My new Twitter friend Tom Watson (UK Labour MP and Parliamentary Secretary at the Cabinet Office until his resignation in June this year) has drawn my attention to a blog in the UK House of Lords titled Lords of the Blog.

It’s a cross parliamentary blog, so the politicians are not all from the same party, which is interesting. So we are not alone. But we’re still unique.

    That’s interesting.

Greetings from Britain. I was pointed towards this blog by Lord Norton of Louth, who gave mention of it in the blog to which you link. He is a very erudite chap and if you ever wish to know anything about the history of British politics, give him a bell.

I see you also have a Labour Party. I do hope your one hasn’t undergone a wholesale abandonment of socialism as ours has. We’ve had a Labour government for 12 years and they have yet to even re-nationalize the railway system. As for Mr Watson, his resignation was part of a failed coup d’etat attempt to bring down the Prime Minister.

Best wishes, keep up the good work. Yours is a beautiful country.

Hear that? You need more “fetching pictures” of yourselves on this blog ;)
I did find it funny in the comments section some of their reaction to us no longer having an upper chamber! I can’t even phathom going back to an upper chamber now.

I would like my seat in the upper chamber back please!
