Local Government (Council-Controlled Organisations) Amendment Bill (Darien Fenton)
Reserve Bank of New Zealand (Amending Primary Function of Bank) Amendment Bill (Winston Peters)
Income Tax (Universalisation of In-work Tax Credit) Amendment Bill (Catherine Delahunty)
This is what happens when you make your own luck.
If the Fenton bill is the best they can come up with, then maybe Joyce is right about them being as shallow as a puddle?
Catherine’s Bill is a good one to extend the in work tax credit to beneficiaries and students.
Darien’s one is about transparency of our assets. The small amendment it seeks to the current law can make a big difference to democracy.
Extending an ‘in work’ tax credit to out of work people was a disaster for Labour last election. For good reason.
The bill is not expected to proceed, but when it comes up for the first reading Labour will have to show whether they learnt from the campaign or not.
“Extending an ‘in work’ tax credit to out of work people was a disaster for Labour last election. For good reason.”
But not as much a disaster as for those people who lost their jobs on your guys watch, who’s children now go without, precisely for the loss of that money.
“Labour will have to show whether they learnt from the campaign or not.”
Learnt what and from whom? Is the real question.
@jennifer : you should have a closer look at my bill. Or do I take it you support ratepayer owned or partially owned Ports being exempt from Official Information, the requirements to be a good employer and having regard to environmental and social concerns? If you do, says it all really.
