    LOL :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D !!!!!!

  2. George says:

Mr Banks has trouble remembering his age let alone anything else.

  3. Jack Ramaka says:

Banksie aint the smartest boy on the block, he is getting himself tongue tied on this one.

  4. Ianmac says:

If Mr Banks is indeed losing his memory that would be a frightening experience and would cause him to be incapacitated. Surely if Mr Key gets round to talking with Mr Banks face to face, he would notice something surely?
(Growing old and forgetting is tough!)

  5. Ianmac says:

By the way Mr Banks struggled with talking about a “donor” but instead repeatedly talked about a “donator” and this was at a variety of times. See TV3. Ominous.

  6. Tim G. says:

@Anne – my god that is nutty (but brilliant!)

It has a good tables-and-chairs-stacked-up-against-the-door-and-stockpiled-firearms ring about it…

Moreso than your average menacing phonecall/talkback radio, even!

  7. Jack Ramaka says:

I think John Key should advise John Banks to step aside for the interim as his ability to answer questions accurately appears to be a problem.

Maybe he needs some physcological help as he is talking about cabbage boats and not having had a sexual relationship with Kim Dotcom.

  8. True Wheel says:

Where are the usual suspects on Red Alert apart from Hollow Hoots on the other post? there must be some real substance to whatever is causing Banksie’s public meltdown to see the cone of silence deployed by our Kiwiblog/Oil friends.

  9. richie says:

He must of had a moment of clarity when he asked for the cheques to broken into 25k each. Gives him plausible deniability on knowing who the donor is, as the donation sit amongst the other 3 25k donations.

The fog return as both cheques are from “Mega” Stuff from the same cheque book on the same day. Surely that cannot be considered two seperate donations?

    Does Banskie wear velcroe shoes?

  10. Tracey says:

Anyone else minded of the TV3 interview with Banks in the park like setting? Interviewer had transcript in hand, and Banks lied through his teeth and looked VERY stupid.

Farrar wrote an interesting piece on Herald’s confusion between two acts, and generally tried to separate the Banks and Peters debacles. However, despite what our PM says ethics is not about the law.

The law is the minimum level of behaviour required. Ethical behanvious lies below and above this line (generally above).

To watch Mr Banks slither about, as he did over the teapot tapes is to wonder how we can bring our children up, with credibility, to believe that they can, and should, aim for standards of behaviour higher than the law sets.

  11. Tracey says:

I know, that whole “he’s a married man” thing was weird as all get out.

Mind you, this is the party that also brought us David Garrett of the “there must be strong consequences for people’s behaviour” unless we’re talking bout mine, brigade.

Between Owen Glen and Kim Dotcom can we finally put to bed the idea that big money in NZ doesn’t try to buy favours from politicians. Interestingly, they keep trying even when it fails… does that mean our politicians are more ethical than we think, or that it works more often than it doesn’t?

  12. Tim G. says:

Tracey – completely agree with you. Key is confusing ethics and law.

    In the following clip he:

    a) concedes the local government law might need changing because it retains loopholes that Banks might be able to exploit; yet
    b) states that unless Ministers break the law, he would not stand them down because that would “set a dangerous precedent”.

    Lol. http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/6833411/Banks-told-Williamson-Dotcom-was-Aucklands-friend

  13. Tim G. says:

@True Wheel – agree with you – so far none of the unpaid tories have turned up with vehement and vitriolic defences of Banks’ actions. Why?

As for Hooton – I can see the account now:

  14. Jack Ramaka says:

Just follow the money trail and all will be revealed.

Seems strange John Banks has memory loss on these events, is he actually fit to be in Government with such clarity of thought.

I am sure I would remember if I received two cheques from a person such as Kim Dotcom, it’s not as if he hasn’t been in the news lately.
