Back Benches this week – the righties take over ?

Posted by on November 22nd, 2011

GOOD TIMES, BAD TIMES: The Campaign is less than a week away. What have been the highs & lows of this campaign? Who has been effective in getting their message across? Who has failed? What have been the big issues? How would you rate each of the campaigns? Which party has surprised you?

TEMPEST IN A TEACUP: There have been a few scandals in this campaign—with New Zealand even getting their own Tea Party. We will be discussing the scandals—the tea-gate? The damaged hoardings and the carpetbaggers. How much of an impact will they have on the results? And were the “scandals” really scandals?

LIVE pub politics from the Backbencher Pub: Wednesday, 23RD of November. Our Panel: David Farrar of Kiwiblog.co.nz, Victoria University Lecturer Ana Gilling, Morgan Godfery of Mauistreet.blogspot.com, and Mark Unsworth of Saunders Unsworth.

who wants to waste a fine Wednesday night listening to the penguin and his tory mates sqwaking away…waste of time, waste of money.

  2. David says:

    Ana Gilling is no tory!

  3. Tracey says:

I hope someone asks Farrar how he considers that 3-4 people could skew the worm when 64 people had worm control.

  4. jennifer says:

Moreover, can someone ask the Tories’ paid pollster and blogger how come they knew all about this kid within hours of the show? Something sinister about these Tories tracking people like this. Who else are they tracking?

  5. ehoa says:

The Penguin…now known as “Unhappy Feet” has a penchance for following and tracking people…normally to the Hummingbird. (disclaimer –I don’t follow or track him)

  6. Tracey says:

    Yup, I notice of all the things to discuss, the focus on a child’s drawing drew a heated and almost rabid response on a site which has been largely quiet for a week or two, so that focusing on a child’s drawing and whether 3 out of 64 people weren’t truthful about their voting preference is way more important than, say;

    asset sales
    child poverty
    child abuse
    health
    education

  7. Dorothy says:

Radio NZ asked Farrar to adjudicate on the worm controversy – as if he were an independent commentator!
I am disgusted he tries to kid people he’s objective – fortunately the weather is so crap I doubt many people will bother to go tonight.

  8. Tracey says:

Dorothy – his objectivity went when he tried to suggest that 3 people could influence a worm out of a total of about 63.
