I reckon the Commissioner will be doing some apologising pretty soon.

So, it could have been far more than a mere microphone and no-one would have noticed. And those paid mega-bucks to “protect” our PM didn’t notice this unidentified package. And the media aren’t reporting that angle of the story. No surprise there.
Not even a comment expressing some disappointment in the Herald for practicing News of the World like practices? Not a responsible comment about how the press should be careful not to abuse their privileges, that they should observe their duties and not intrude on other people’s rights.
Nah. Too busy making snide remarks about something the public ignored you about half a year ago.
LOL
Well, accidents happen
!
While we are on apologies, will we get one from certain Tories in cahoots with 3News when they covertly taped and used footage to embarrass and humiliate Goff recently? Anyone holding their breath?
@Jennifer, Goff doesn’t need anyones help to “embarrass and humiliate” himself, he’s quite capable in that regards himself. See the Press debates for a clue. Oh and this may be news to you, but Goff isn’t nor likely to be Prime Minister of New Zealand. There’s a good girl now.
John K assumes the bag is John Bs.
John B assumes the bag is John Ks.
Official(17!) keepers assumes the bag belongs to either JK or JB.
A good example of too many cooks? Or is that too many Spooks?
Looks like they are going to put a hand grenade in the package and turf it into HoS face … after the election.
Stop trolling or get banned. Trevor
Off topic but you guys need to jump on this.

This is the bit I find interesting.
“So the Department of Labour report actually mentions about 6000 forecast new jobs that might not happen under a theory that the Treasury doesn’t believe.”
The reason is that most of the people I know who support John Key do so because they see him as a ‘businessman’ who knows what he is doing. (Personally, I see him as a former ‘well paid salary earner’. A businessman to me is someone like Graham Hart.)
To me it looks like JK either read the Labour Dept figures wrong or has lied about it to make it look bad to suit National’s interests.
@ Dave, was that all your own work, or did CT help you out with it? The point remains, the Tories were donkey deep in the 3News cover taping, now they are all prissy and hurt when it is done to them. If they have any grounds for complaint, it is that their buddies in the Herald didn’t tell them beforehand, like the always do?
You need to be positive to win on 26th. This is not positive. How many more such wasted opportunities do we have to endure. Be positive,
Disreali wrote “News of the World like practices” Gee did you come up with that analogy all by yourself?
To my knowledge NOTW never did anything so obvious as put the package or recorder in front of people, they preferred to hack.
Good point however that the Herald stoops to such depths, no surprises to those who have watched it’s spiral to tabloid status. Of course NOTW is a well known money maker for a conservative politician, so perhaps that’s what has affronted the PM, who it was targetted at (joke).
Also good point that a PM so concerned about death threats and his safety has a team who didn’t notice an unidentified bomb (er package). We pay them too much, they ought to be sacked. Is he calling for their dismissal today?
Tracey, NOTW was a Murdoch paper , now closed.
@Dave – Goff has a chance of winning!
