    Bahahahahahahahahaha! !

Curious. However, in a country where the Property Council can demand, with a straight face, that taxpayers stump up billions to help pay to fix up their unsafe buildings, when their cohorts are predicting economic doom if we buy a hungry kid a feed, who knows what is going on? We are through the looking glass, people.

  3. Tracey says:

Um, I hope your source is correct Trevor, given that the OIA enables a delay of a month or so, you won’t know until after the election, so perhaps it would be better to have kept the powder dry until then? There’s no way they will comply with the 14 Nov deadline if the content is as you state.

jennifer, or $20m for a temporary stadium when the Crusaders region includes Ashburton and Nelson (the later with decent capacity) or when we borrow $120m per week to sustain tax cuts during a recession to a group that historically take that same money out of the economy (save) the antithesis of what a recessioning economy needs.

But yes, let’s focus on the 0.04% of beneficiaries who are bad eggs.

  4. Rare Debt says:

    This says a lot really.

  5. OldGeorge says:

You (or at least one of the people who posts here as ‘Tracey’ :) ) constantly asks for the source for statistics whenever they’re quoted.

0.04% of beneficiaries as bad eggs?

Wherefrom the percentage. And how is ‘bad egg’ defined for this purpose?

  6. jennifer says:

The real danger is they will let loose. They always held back a bit, but most of the big boys just don’t give a damn any more, feel completely invicible, untouchable, with the MSM in their pockets. It could get really ugly.

  7. Tracey says:

it’s just one Tracey, no duplicates, just me.

Sorry the figure ought to have been 0.10%

    source is here

    http://werewolf.co.nz/2011/02/ten-myths-about-welfare/

Your turn to front up now OG, and answer all my questions about the basis and source and detail of your assertions. Details of National policy to address your issues with welfare, the timelines, the method of implementation and so on.

  8. Nick K says:

    Currently 52 v 26. After this probably 51 v 27.

  9. jennifer says:

@ Tracey, fair questions but you don’t seriously expect and answer do you? Key just promised hundreds of millions in subsidies to farmers for irrigation schemes, and the compliant dutiful MSM lapdogs added that it would all be paid for from the asset sales. No more questions, please.

  10. waterboy says:

So they sell an asset that as a tax payer im a shareholder of to help the farmers who are private businesses use the water that we all own for no cost?

    Thats fair i suppose.

I have a horrible feeling that the actual election results will be worse than that poll, if labours few supporters dont bother voting, the greens get a big turn out and national gets the rest we could be looking at National with 60%, Labour 22% and the greens about %13, plus the bitsa partys. I wonder what that would do for politics in nZ in the future.

Have Labour in there history ever polled as low 25%?

  11. ghostwhowalksnz says:

I think you will find out that they have sent the emails to each other as MPs not through the ministerial accounts. Hey presto cant be touched by the OIA

A few years back I was told to do exactly that when sending emails to the Minister of Education about an education issue ( I dont live in her electorate nor in Boston Rd !!)

  12. Trevor Mallard says:

@gww don’t think you are right. He didn’t email the member for Helensville. And private emails don’t go to agencies.

  13. Tracey says:

jennifer – no, just making a point ;)

  14. Peter says:

Just when Labour couldn’t get anymore sad and pathetic.

    They do.

    This isn’t high school.

  15. Dave says:

@Peter “this isn’t high school”. Quite right, if it was, they’d all be on strike for less work , more money, and try to time it to do as much damage to the kids as possible.

  16. Peter G says:

Funny, I seem to recall that National sagged to 20% in a recent election …Probably didn’t do them any harm gave them a chance to re-think their strategy.

Labour may well poll a tad under 30% on the 26th , but I think that 2014 will be a whole different game, Key will probably not be at the helm then, lets face it, this is a much harder gig than currency trading, what with 19 hours a day, 7 days a week ! More lamb must be getting a bit tuckered out…

  17. OldGeorge says:

At this point, though, it’s difficult to imagine a policy that would resonate with as many people as Brash’s ‘One Nation’ policy did.

The revival of the National Party (remember they were only just pipped at the post in 2005) dates from the Orewa speech. Since then they’ve never really looked back.

  18. Tracey says:

You are probably right OG, it was when they decided that having an honest leader didn’t work ;) – since then plain sailing! Although it is sad to see the recent poll results about the perecentage of people who think our two main party leaders are likely to lie.

  19. Whafe says:

I will say, I am so very proud of the dedication of so many of you to accept and still be of the opinion that Labour’s strategy is on the mark to win the up coming election….

  20. Gruntie says:

The National Herald reports breaking news that Superman has saved the BOP coast from that nasty Rena oil – such a hero – um why else would Monkey make the media release ?

  21. Tracey says:

Wasn’t your urgent request expiring 14 November?
