Come on Trevor. Drop the ‘nek minnit’ rubbish. You used to be the Minister for Education for crying out loud.
@Bryce
Some light hearted fun. It’s not as if the other side doesn’t do it too. Grow a sense of humour.
Keep it up Trev. Show them up for their hypocrisy.
@ Bryce
Surprised you have to read when you know what they entail. If you find Trevor’s sense of humour not to your liking, don’t read, it is that simple, but to tell anyone else that their sense of humour should pass your muster is a tad arrogant to say the least. This is Trevor’s lounge that you are invited to sit in as are the rest of us. Don’t like it? Don’t stay.
Calm down Bryce or Trevor will put ya on detention
@Anne – damn right!
@Sofie –
Now, where’s that stool, Spudddy wants to put his feet up!
@Bryce
Levi Hawken has now had more than 1 million hits on his Nek Minnit clip. It’s an extraordinary phenomenon. Very Kiwi and quirky. He’s based in Dunedin and is a renowned skateboarder with a social conscience. I’ve met with him. It’s pretty appropriate really. He’s pretty cool about the parodies. And after all, both sides are using the expression

Don’t listen to any advice then and see where you end up later this month.
Bryace, are you suggesting if labour doesn’t listen to you on this point it will lose the election????
@Clare. I know, I have seen this and it is funny but, this is not a comedy show. The election is a very serious business. I deal with people every day who seem to believe that txt speak is perfectly ok in business and letter writing seems to have gone down the drain. That is the frustration I have.
@Tracey. I give up! Don’t worry. You won’t have to read anything from me on this site again.
@Bryce. Pffft. Labour’s not courting heads of business, nor writing business letters. This clip is part of a zeitgeist you might not have even noticed.
“this is not a comedy show. The election is a very serious business. ”
Oh c’mon, What? As serious as Hobbiton, or DJing or as serious as the joke that is NACT in Epsom? You could send National a quick reminder of how serious it should be. He might even be able to make it onto our State owned TV to enlighten us as to how serious he is without his nurse maid scripting his responses. Yeah right and pigs might fly.
This Election is nothing but a joke to John Key. He should be ashamed of himself.
Labour MP,s should be allowed to be light hearted on their own Blog of individual opinions,surely?
Yep, keep it up Trevor. Clever way to expose the ‘double speak’.
Who cares what National are doing? There is no need to sink to their level. Be positive and highlight the great policies that Labour have been introducing lately.
As for this being Trevor’s Lounge. Surely this blog exists to inform all votors on what Labour can achieve? Continual putting down and trying to humiliate anyone who does not approve of what is being written in this blog (see reactions back in the Sir Peter Leitch threads) is not helpfull to Labour getting back into government.
I have a great sense of humor and, once Labour is back in power, will be happy share a joke or two.
Bryce
This is not the “labour party ” Blog.
“These are the voices of Labour MPs on issues that we care about – and we’d like to hear what you think too. What you’ll read are the individual opinions of MPs. We won’t always agree with each other and sometimes our opinions may change.”
C’mon Tracey.
I guess it would be just plain silly to assume that this is the de facto party blog given that it is “Authorised by Chris Flatt, 160 Willis St, Wellington.”
Chris Flatt, General Secretary for the NZLP, just in case there is any confusion.
If blog.labour.org.nz isn’t the Labour Party blog then it is doing a great impersonation.
What it is, is a blog that some, not all, Labour MPs write on. It’s not the entire party and it’s not even the entire caucus. I’m sure that the Chris Flatt thing is just to cover their butts during the election period!
C’mon Gregor, am just pasting what they say about themselves (up there in top right corner), of course perception matters.
MANY MPs have never posted here, including the leader. Has the Chris Flatt statement been there from the getogo? I checked wayback and it wasn’t there earlier this year or in 2009, so it is only for the election period as Spud says.
Fair enough Tracey.
But Chris’ endorsement is there and by implication, that makes anything on here an authorised party political statement.
Ergo, it’s the party blog (even if it’s just for the election period) no matter whether a handful or all of the NZLP candidates utilise it or not.
