How much is the world’s slowest Indian paying whale

Posted by on July 3rd, 2011

I see that the skills of the Slater Lusk team are being put in behind Aaron Bhatnagar’s attempt to get the National party nomination for Epsom.

Paying these people who helped Brash roll Hide seems wrong. In fact the whole idea of hiring consultants to win party nominations seems unclean.

Present your evidence Trevor, or stop telling l1es.

  2. Portion Control says:

Why are you so fascinated by the internal selections of the National Party in a seat that Labour has never won, Trevor? The National Party has 60 delegates who decide who the candidate will be. Have you got democracy envy trevor?

Calling a political opponent “the world’s slowest indian” is very derogatory. Is this a case of another Tinkerbell style comment that will give you cause to regret?

  3. Anne says:

The National Party has 60 delegates who decide who the candidate will be.

Only 60 delegates? Now that’s a revelation. Of course we know it must be true because PC is a NAct agent – or ‘insider’ for those who prefer it to be described thus..

Keep up the baiting Trevor. It’s fun to follow.

  4. David King says:

I’m not happy with NZ descending into what looks more like the big money USA system (i.e. mega millions just to be nominated).

  5. Portion Control says:

Yes I’m such an insider Anne. I had the inside scoop. Actually I read it on scoop. You can too if you use that fancy new google thing, but that might involve you going outside your current prejudices. http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PO1107/S00015/epsom-candidate-contest.htm

Care to tell us how many people get to determine a labour party selection Anne?

  6. Anne says:

Care to tell us how many people get to determine a labour party selection Anne?

On average about 200. I believe it has been as high as 500 in the stronger electorates. A case of ‘open democracy in action’ PC dear.

  7. softstarter says:

Anne, that’s not open democracy at all, only open primaries will achieve that. So really, no NZ party is a democracy.

  8. Whaleoil says:

Those “200 or as many as 500″ are actually one vote. The floor vote. You tell fibs.

  9. Portion Control says:

Anne are you saying that the 500 people who turn up at a Labour Party selection choose who the candidate is?

  10. JagMan says:

Im not sure if I find the pettiness of Trevor Mallard funny or depressing. He must be pretty bored to come up with these entirely baseless accusations. May I recommend getting a hobby?

Seems as though racism is well and alive within the grey power wing of the Labour party.

  11. Portion Control says:

JagMan, Trevor has called Finlayson “tinkerbell”, has referred to Chester as a “retiree” even though Chester is younger than Trevor and has a larger majority and is now resorting to racial slurs. But that is no reason for you to talk about Trevor being the “grey power wing”. That is a slur on grey power, which is a very reputable and long-standing social service organisation for our seniors.

By all means point out how long Trevor and the front bench have been in Parliament (a very very very long time), and how out of touch they are, but please refrain from making an issue of Trevor’s age.

  12. mickysavage says:

Cameron do you always tell the truth?

  13. Portion Control says:

Micky you are a Labour Party activist. Show some integrity here and comment on Anne’s claim that 200-500 Labour Party members decide who the candidate is.

  14. Inventory2 says:

Indian-bashing Trevor? I thought that Labour was the party for immigrant communities.

  15. mickysavage says:

    PC

It is true. For large electorates there can be a floor vote involving 500 people and up to three local delegates and three head office appointees. The floor vote can and has determined selections.

Trevor seems to have touched a nerve. Many attempts to discredit and change the subject but there is this real issue about money and control of the ACT and the National Parties that needs to be addressed.

  16. Whaleoil says:

Yes I do Greg Presland, especially about you and your comments all over the internet.

I even accede to your demands to publish your letters to me.

  17. Peter D says:

    Banned. Clare

  18. mickysavage says:

How are those credit card details Cameron? You really sucked me in. I believed you for a while.

  19. Whaleoil says:

They will come out in due course. Plenty more details will come out in due course. So much information, so little time.

  20. Portion Control says:

So really Micky the 500 people at selections only count as one vote in seven. That is a long stretch and you know it.

  21. mickysavage says:

    PC

So really Micky the 500 people at selections only count as one vote in seven. That is a long stretch and you know it.

No it is not and Anne is perfectly correct in what she said. I take it you have no inner knowledge of the working of the Labour Party?

    Cameron

I was really worried you had my credit card details. I checked on the issue and it is clear that you do not have access to credit card details. The transaction occurred on a different site. Your assertion you have these details is as accurate as the video you made suggesting Jim Anderton said that it would take an earthquake to stop him winning the Christchurch Mayoralty.

  22. Whaleoil says:

Believe what you like, clearly as a labour supporter you’ll believe anything.

  23. mickysavage says:

What sort of answer is that? Don’t you want to defend yourself?

  24. Carol says:

Trevor’s reference is to the acclaimed NZ-made movie The World’s Fastest Indian, with Indian being the make of motorcycle.

  25. felix says:

But but but Carol, just saying the word “Indian” is incredibly racist because, um, it’s a race or something.

Whereas cuddling up to white supremacists is just fine.

  26. Portion Control says:

It is very funny to see Labour Party people defend racism by one of their own. I always wondered just how tolerant Labour Party activists could be after they defended snuggling up to intolerant Winston for so long. Again you prove it by trying to denigrate somebody on the basis of their ethnicity. World’s slowest Indian is an ethnic slur. Just because it’s a play on words doesn’t make it ethnically appropriate.

  27. Inventory2 says:

@ Carol; the post is clearly about Aaron Bhatnagar’s attempt to win National’s Epsom nomination, and the so-called “dark forces” behind it. Given that Bhatnagar is the only candidate mentioned, is of Indian descent, and that Lusk and Slater are not, it’s pretty obvious who the term is directed at.

Trevor may indeed have tried to be funny, but it has backfired on him. I guess that’s the risk you take when you tread the line between being an MP and a shock-blogger. He is a long-serving MP, and shouldn’t need to resort to racial stereotyping.

  28. Anne says:

Have I got this right Trevor?

Are you saying that the Slater/Lusk consultancy team that were hired (paid for by Banks) to roll Rodney Hide and replace him with Banks as ACT’s Epsom candidate… are the same consultancy team that have been ‘hired’ to roll the other Nat. candidates and install Aaron Bhatnagar as National’s Epsom candidate?

This is starting to look like a modern-day NZ version of Alice in Wonderland.

  29. Trevor Mallard says:

You’ve got it Anne. If you can hold your nose and read Whaleoil you can see the transparent PR campaign.

  30. Inventory2 says:

You’ve got it Anne. If you can hold your nose and read Whaleoil you can see the transparent PR campaign.

So Trevor; you’re saying that all the posts that WO has been doing on National Party selections over the last few months have just been a cover for the Epsom one, which no-one knew was going to be so important until Brash rolled Hide? Are you sure that Winston Peters hasn’t hijacked your log-in?

  31. Santi says:

Dear Mr Mallard, since when are you a racist? Shame on you.

  32. joe bloggs says:

Yup it’s appalling Santi to see what masquerades as representing the public good these days.

The real Michael Joseph Savage must be spinning in his grave at the likes of Trevor Mallard and Greg Presland – how low Labour and their activists have sunk.

And to think that the public pays for Trevor Mallard to ladle out this racist stuff (and that some of Trevor’s cheer leaders actually endorse this approach)…

  33. mickysavage says:

Memo from Cameron Slater to all supporters:

Re Red Alert, Trevor Mallard, Simon Lusk and the National Epsom Candidate Selection Process

Trevor is onto something in what he says about my old mate Simon Lusk. Please head over the Red Alert and do anything to divert him and the thread. Call him a rascist, ask about the Labour Candidate selection process, anything but divert the thread off the topic. It is incredibly embarassing for our side.

    Message ends …

  34. ehoa says:

Are there any other Indians planning to stand in Epsom?

  35. jennifer says:

@ Micky, still no denial from the Whale, and still none of his famous transparency? Looks like all the stories about the Tory ‘black ops’ slush fund might be correct? I wonder if our IRD look into such things? Wasn’t Capone done for tax fraud?

  36. Whaleoil says:

How many times do I have to deny what Trevor has failed to prove. It is absolute lies on his part and he knows it.

He should produce his evidence, put up or shut up. Were I better off financially I would compel him to do so.

  37. Whaleoil says:

  38. Inventory2 says:

Nice try micky, but I don’t need any help to form an opinion. I’ve been saying for some time now that Trevor treads a fine line between shock-blogger and MP, and on this occasion he’s well and truly crossed the line.

  39. mickysavage says:

    WO

He should produce his evidence, put up or shut up. Were I better off financially I would compel him to do so.

Funny that. I said to you this earlier:

How are those credit card details Cameron? You really sucked me in. I believed you for a while.

So how about you do the same?

  40. joe bloggs says:

Memo from Joe Bloggs balanced deleted with a warning not to tell lies or you will be banned Trevor

    Whatever…

  41. joe bloggs says:

Banned You know we don’t debate moderation. Especially with liars. Trevor

  42. Frontrower says:

So how did Kris Faafoi get selected for Mana when the locals opposed him and many activists were suspicious due to his TV interview which implied he was considering working for a National Government Minister? Oh, that’s right – Labour bussed in Union delegates to stack the floor vote and meeting delegate. Add the three HO delegates, and they beat the 4 local delegates.

But that’s alright – they did the same for Winnie Laban and for Graham Kelly. Since when have the local members in Mana had a chance to say who they want as candidate.

  43. Whaleoil says:

How come you don’t ban yourself for telling l1es Trevor?

  44. mickysavage says:

    Come on Cameron.

What is that biblical saying? Let he who is without sin cast the first stone?

So tell us do you have the credit card details?

And did you create and release a video that misled people into thinking that Jim Anderton said it would take an earthquake to lose the Christchurch Earthquake?

There are other examples but these are perhaps the best examples.

  45. JagMan says:

Trevor could relate to ‘Animal Farm’ very well. I suggest you give it a read, Trev.

  46. felix says:

Come on chaps, what’s racist about calling Aaron an Indian?

    Isn’t he an Indian?

Is it racist to say “Indian” or what?

  47. ehoa says:

If Aaron is the Indian then John Banks, Don Brash, one-nut-Bob (basically the Tory Party Old Boys Club — minus Sir Dodger Bludger) are Remuera cowboys.

  48. sweetd says:

What does his race have to do with anything in this thread? It was a cheap shot and Mallard should appologise. If it was a rightie who made the comment, I expect Minto and his rent a demo crowd would be all over this just like the Paul Henry episode.
