Red Alert

Selling Our Country

Posted by on January 28th, 2011

While we now know John Keys plan for NZ ….. Sell it all and give your mates a commission on the trades, there are alarming moves in the private sector also. Banks are squeezing businesses and foreign investors are lining up to take control of some of our important sectors. A recent announcement that Agria, an Asian company is applying to raise it’s stake in PGWrightsons from 19% to 51% is one more such move. PGwrightsons is our biggest primary sector service company and benefits from a huge part of every activity in our primary economy. The silence by farmers and their leaders has been concerning also. People must realize that the land is important but only part of our rural economy. The businesses that operate on and associated with it need also to be owned by us unless we are prepared to be servants to our future, not the owners of it.
Put this with John Keys selloff of SOEs and we should be worrying. Time to vote this Tory Government out of office as we did in 1999!!

fisiani what part of Treasury predicts the assets will be in majority foreign ownership within ten years dont you get?

“it is not unusual to see them putting everything into their business and taking no or limited drawings/wages for effort for a considerable period of time. In comparison the employee always gets paid ”

Again, I agree most small owners do put heaps in and try hard to keep em ployees on the payroll. I dont agree they take limited drawings aother than to say they meet their mortgages, their bills, their family needs but get no cream. HOWEVER it is ridiculous to make your last statement. Employees dont always get paid, they rank behind secured creidtors (banks) in all failed businesses.

I’m not sure how calling a group of people dispticks fits with your desire to stay out of mud.

The MP drives to work in his foreign made car, sits down at his foreign made computer running an OS developed overseas. Opens up his internet connection developed as a tool of war by the US government, goes on Red Alert that runs…a foreign made software system in WordPress, all to tell his acolytes that foreign investment in NZ is baaaaaaad.

Perhaps he even takes note with a Bic pen mass produced in China? Or converses with Blue State Digital…an American company Labour has hired for campaigning? Who knows.

As you believe we should ban all foreign ownership, do you believe that we should ban all New Zealanders from owning foreign assets?

If so, presumably you would force foreign asset owners to sell up?
