Apropos (I love that word) my previous post on great Xmas songs. Here’s John Lennon; Happy Xmas (the war is over). Except it’s not.
Not much else to say really. There will always be another war. And there will always be hope that it will end. Lennon was on the side of hope. Me too. And I hope all of you.
I hope for a world without war.

John Lennon was a genius, and still very much missed.
and thought Fairytale of New York will win, this is a great song. When the 30th anniversary of Lennon’s death was commemorated in December, it got me thinking how much more he might have contributed. As someone approaching the age he was when he died it is sobering.
Lennon was an idealist who duped a lot of people. Especially those who listened to “Imagine” and thought what he was talking about was possible. Great musician, but his opinions and preaching don’t amount to much more than what you’d get from your average hippie drum circle.
