Red Alert

Does John Key know he’s our latest follower?

Posted by on November 28th, 2010

John Key is following Red Alert on Twitter. Good on him. Keeping up to date.

Every time we do a post on Red Alert, it gets automatically posted onto Twitter. John Key is now a follower. Means he doesn’t have to regularly check in to Red Alert, he can just follow us on Twitter.

Presume he made the decision himself!

Good on John Key he will have fun watching the censorship on the Red Machine.

  2. Spud says:

    Coolies :-D

  3. Alan says:

That should allow the member for overseas holidays a chance to be informed about what is happening under his “relaxed leadership” but then does being on twitter make the user a twit?

  4. ianmac says:

I expect that someone would edit comments for John as it must be a bit hard to know that there are many who do not respect his leadership or his morality. Most other PMs had at least recognisable philosophies whether you agreed with them or not. For example Jim Bolger was pretty certain about what he believed in and it showed.Who could guess John Key’s as it changes with the tide of public opinion?

  5. Ella says:

Keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer?

  6. Carol says:

I wonder if JK is looking over his shoulder at Simon Power, who is highlighting the difference between a real politician and a wannabe celebrity PM?

Twitter is a big favourite for celebrities & they guage their popularity on numbers of followers rather than doing anything useful. And one way to get more followers is to follow more people/entities, whatever their views – expand your networks to expand your follower numbers.

  7. Andy says:

Oh dear, he’s after ideas, I think he’s run out of them!

  8. Spud says:

Maybe someone could PM the PM :P

  9. Spud says:

Hey everybody, in light of our new Smile and Wave friend, I would like to encourage everyone to write lol to sign off every comment that they write today! :-D

  10. ianmac says:

Carol -its a bit sad if the leaders of our country gain traction from the popularity expressed on Twitter, rather than the nitty gritty of active decision-making and credible leadership.

  11. Spud says:

Laughable is it not? LOL :-D

LOL with us ianmac LOLOLOLOLOLOL! :-D

  12. Al1ens says:

Well worth a shot if he’s reading this

    RESIGN

Obviously you don’t have a clue of how to move the economy forward without punishing the workers or the vulnerable.
Your inept handling of the warner brothers affair has discredited you (and NZ) in the eyes of foreign governments.
Your dodgy ‘blind’ portfolios show you’d rather be on the trading floor where your talents in deception can truly shine.
You have confused spin doctoring and media relations with good governance. Smiling and waving doesn’t fix the mess of employment relations, unemployment, falling services, wong, worth, Carter etc…

Do the country a big big favour and p*ss off back to swimming in your money vault like scrooge Mc’duck.
Cullen was right. You are just a rich ………word deleted Trevor

  13. slightlyrighty says:

maybe he needs a good laugh?

  14. Spud says:

  15. Red under the Bed says:

  16. Michael says:

You’re in Opposition and your party bombed out in Mana.

  17. chris says:

@Al1ens ” p*ss off back to swimming in your money vault like scrooge Mc’duck.”

    LOL – envy much!

The man has done more good for NZ than you will do in many lifetimes.

He dosnt need the money – he is doing this as a service to NZ – and looking at the poll results (being one of our most popular PM’s ever).

Goon on him, and pity on the small minded envy haters.

  18. chris says:

Answering the post question. I’m guessing someone runs the account for him and just has a sense of humour.

  19. SPC says:

    Thanks for getting his attention.

John some guy called Bollard, you may have met him, reckons we should cut the Kiwi Saver tax incentive and inflation proof savings before there is a tax liability. He’s onto something. Sound him out.

Bollard is currently proposing that the Kiwi Saver incentives go (the annual cost is $1B and rising), and the money be used to inflation proof savings before interest income is taxed. Labour should support him on this.

The new Kiwi Saver regime should be compulsory (for those working) at 2% – with newcomers receiving the $1000 start-up contribution only. Also the ability of people to enrol (children) those not working should end.

  20. Armchair Critic says:

“You’re in Opposition and your party bombed out in Mana”
Interesting use of the word bombed. I hope Labour bombs in the same way in 2011.

  21. Spud says:

    Glad you’re laughing Red! :-D

    Mike – Faafoi won! :-D

    Armchair Critic so true! :-D

    Labour won in Mana
    Opposition will end
    Labour will win, my friend!

    :-D

  22. tracey says:

Isnt it true that National’s candidate also got fewer votes than in 2008?

  23. Spud says:

    Ha ha ha, yes! :-D

  24. Richard the First says:

    After Election2011
Nats will still be in their Heaven
    Labour hasn’t got a show
As on and on and on and on and on and on and on we go.

    LOL Spud :d

  25. Al1ens says:

“Isnt it true that National’s candidate also got fewer votes than in 2008?”

    Yes, Tracey. Nearly 3500 less.
Hardly a ringing endorsement of their candidate.

  26. Richard the First says:

BUGGER! Where’s that edit key we were promised.

  27. Al1ens says:

    “word deleted Trevor”

Sorry for my use of parliamentary (Cullen termed the phrase in the chamber if I recall correctly) language :-D

  28. Spud says:

    For Rich.

    Labour’s going to win
Oh, sorry you might not like
Lesson here, the polls are going to hike!

    :-D

  29. Doug says:

    Spud:
Lesson here, the polls are going to hike!
The Transtasman poll has Annette King polling higher than Phil Goff now thats a worry.

  30. Spud says:

Phil will climb, good bloke :-D
