Current rumour is that she is doing a fund raising trip for the Nats out of NZ.
Happy to be proven wrong.
Possibly getting it in before her passport is held by the court system.

She must be very valuable to the party
That would be bizarre if the rumour were true.
why deal in facts when you have rumours. balance deleted, show I’m wrong Trevor
Well it would explain why she hasn’t resigned yet and the NBR article (in printed copy only) would certainly lead us to believe her main contribution to National these years has been pulling in the cash. So come on people, where is she and what is she doing?
Do ya think she’s skipped the country?
Fugative Wong poof she’s gone
Now there’s a namby pansy thing to do!
!
Address the issue. Trevor
I heard she was working with Lord Lucan at the fish and chip shop down the road
While Elvis flips the shergar burgers
“bizarre?”
seems like the national party has been increasingly blurring the lines between reality and satire ?
Wasn’t there some sort of restriction on overseas funding for political parties?
Key tells the gallery ‘there’s no story here, folks’. The gallery say, ‘right you are, boss.’
I addressed the issue – rubbish goneburger Trevor
so moderation. on what grounds?
Don’t embarrass us, but show us the money – ethics for sale
Trevor, in fairness to Goodness Knows, does he have to prove there isnt a rumour or do you have to show the rumour is true,or as a blog neither has to happen, it’s just some would demand it? (wink)
Maybe she has gone to Monaco to try and raise some big bucks.
Wait, New Zealand political parties can accept donations from foreign sources – or do you mean NZers overseas? Because if money is coming from foreigners, I think it would be a pretty serious ethical breach.
Is this the quid pro quo for arranging that she get off lightly?
@Al1ens – Bahahahahaha!
“seems like the national party has been increasingly blurring the lines between reality and satire ?” B.Sing since 2008!
So now what is she the Minister of Bleepin Fundraising? :evil
: !
Again!
Remember the fuss over Carters ‘leave’ – from the national ranks.
Now there isnt even a pretence she is ‘unwell’. Not a peep on why we are continuing to pay her
So thanks to both Nat and Lab we have had 2 electorates not being represented in parliament as they are or have been on garden duty at the request of their respective leaders. Pity the new employment act that is currently before parliament dioes not also apply to MP’s. Perhaps Trevor you could put a late ammendment in so that we your employers and funding of parties can have some say as to AWOL MP’s. I woul;d love to see a doctor issueing retrospective C.Carter or P.Wong sick notes:-(
Fair point Herodotus. In the same way that Ms Laban had a three year contract with us until something better came along, and then we had to pay $500k to find her replacement.
“Key tells the gallery ‘there’s no story here, folks’. The gallery say, ‘right you are, boss.”
Kudos to Jennifer. I’d like to see this blown up on an A3 size poster, and hung somewhere where the MSM get to see it! `
Tracey-she was elected to Parliament not sentenced to jail. MPs are entitled to resign-there are quite a few I would like to see do it. Sadly Ms Laban is not one of them.
In the form of a cartoon would be better. How about Tom Scott?
Simon- then for electorate Mp’s there should be a type of 3 year employment contract, with a few exceptions for early “release” (health, family, inappropiate spending
etc ). Receiving a better offer is not a valid reason for me, and the cost associated to replace Ms Laban. In the case of Helen Clark with her contribution does allow some goodwill for what Helen did and to allow “early retirement”
If in the real world (unless you are CEO’s) failure to meet contractual obligations exposed you to court action for readdress, the likes of Steve Maharey or Michael Cullan managed their exit.
Simon m – a Contract is a contract, being an MP is NOT like being sentenced to jail and her “choice” to leave cost us alot of money. No one was ill, no life threatened a new career choice. I’m quite happy for an MP who wants to leave early and cause a by-election to by us out of their contract.
