I can’t get excited about any of them.
Woo!
As may be obvious we are having a crack at getting Darren’s bill up here
1 in 25 is pretty poor odds. I’d prefer to see 20 in 45 of something which advances your policies.
2 Labour Bills, zzzzzzzzzz,
What happened to Trevor’s ones?
That minimum wage thing?
Its also worth noting that labour putting bills up doesn’t just give them a chance of being drawn – it also reduces other bills chances of being drawn. And when National has bills with ominous titles such as “Habeus Corpus Amendment Bill”, “Summary Proceedings (Warrant for Detention Conditions) Amendment Bill” and (previously) “Imprisonment for Debt Limitation Repeal Bill”, then I think that’s worth doing.
I have some suggestions!
1, The Crimville electorate for Crims Establishment Bill.
2, The Increase in Course Costs for University Students Generosity Bill.
3, The Drinkers’ Day holiday establishment bill.
4, The Removal of Fluroide from Municipal water supplies bill. (Don’t complain, it’s in toothpaste!
)
5, The National Rail upgrade bill!
I meant fluoride
Nowt wrong with Fluoride spud, don’t believe the conspiracy theories mate.
Clendon, David – Register of Pecuniary Interests of Judges Bill
Saved by the Greens!
Science Ian, ever heard of fluorosis?
Those elderly bones getting eaten away from the NEUROTOXIN that is dumped into our water! Read this!
http://www.sott.net/articles/show/189191-Fluoridated-water-in-tap-water-and-bottled-water-unsafe-for-infants-children-adults-and-elderly
It’s not natural Ian,
, water isn’t supposed to have an aluminium byproduct in it
I challenge anyone to read that article and not be sickened!
But then people kept 245T in this bleepin country long after they knew it was unsafe too!
I still have a container of it Spud, you never know when it might come in handy. Deadly on spuds of course and gorse
You don’t want believe everything you read mate
P.S. This not a threat on your health I know you are not a vegetable
“I still have a container of it Spud, you never know when it might come in handy.” – I’d be careful about using it, you could end up with tumors
“Deadly on spuds of course and gorse.” Gulp,
“You don’t want believe everything you read mate” Don’t worry, I’m always a little skeptical about Monty
“P.S. This not a threat on your health I know you are not a vegetable” You’re not so bad yourself mate
Well just last week I put in a submission on the triennial review of the standing orders suggesting a way to make this easier
Thanks for providing a good example of where it might be useful!
Good for disclosure of break fees (bit late in coming though).
But whats the family home repeal bill??
“# Hughes, Hon Darren – Land Transport (Safer Alcohol Limits for Driving) Amendment Bill”
Can’t wait to hear C Cosgrove’s speech on this…might give him a chance to explain this comment
“”There’s been a lot of late-drinking people who have the luxury to contemplate the constitutional niceties. ”
So anyone who disagrees with him or believes in the importance of a constitutional foundation is a lte night drinker? What an insulting man.
I may misunderstand Tracey, but I think he actually meant latte-drinking, not late night drinking, although like Spud I enjoy both.
@ Tracey, I think you will find the error was a typo, and the news report should have read “latte-drinking”. As for the sentiments behind his comment, he is absolutely correct, in my view.
{deleted, trolling, welcome to moderation, Grant}
“but I think he actually meant latte-drinking, not late night drinking, although like Spud I enjoy both.” You’re my kind of man!
I’m not sure that’s a good thing Spud!
I’m sure you’d change your mind after a few!
jennifer you agree with him, fine but that doesnt mean he is right.
For example I dont drink coffee, I think the legislation in question was unnecessary and I totally support he people of Christchurch with damaged property and note that some places wont have certain basic services for 12 months, so there was time to be selective in the legislation.
I wish people like Cosgrove would see that there are other states of decay and hardship he could swing in behind too, alarmingly high rate of sexual abuse, low rate of conviction
Odd that ACT want to take away people’s right to use their property as they wish, and that they believe in public goods all of a sudden… Calvert’s Billa dogwhistle?
#6 would have been good.
WTF is that about..? Unless the bill is declaring Parliament’s undying love for Habeus Corpus…
Good bill drawn…
Is Labour’s cunning plan to increase the probability one of National’s nasty sounding Bills is drawn to further rark the constitutional “latte drinkers” up, hoping this will increase the momementum for the commentariat to turn on the National party?
I suggest you look on the Law Commission Website here.
Is it not possible to place up a members bill from every Labour MP to do the same thing with different wording and have Darren adopt it from them when it gets drawn?
Hello – I have just given them 5 new bills to choose from!
No. But there is a proposal to change this
