  3. Ben says:

I’d take Garrick Tremains 1950’s mild racism over this droll anyday

  4. Ben says:

Not a chat room Ben Trevor

  5. Peter says:

Now that Lorraine Kerr has publicly reprimanded Anne Tolley, and with the deafening silence of senior National Party people as National Standards crash to Earth ..

Is the Ministry of Education is now sitting on the fence with both ears to the ground? Is the Education Review Office spinning round and round?

I guess solitary Anne Tolley is of primary interest to satirists and cartoonists!

  6. Tigger says:

That doesn’t look a thing like Tolley! The head is far too small…

  7. Ella says:

Goddammit I wish Red Alert had a ‘like’ button :P

  8. Spud says:

    LOL :-D
    @Ella – agreed :-D
T :-( L L Y would fit in well in an isolated community where some of the children have mittens sewn onto their hands :P

  9. Marlene says:

This cartoon was the bright light in an otherwise depressing week, with the Minister of education revealing she has little understanding of authentic teaching acts, the NZC or, motivating student learners. Also that the Minister is comfortable expanding on the facts, making it up as she goes along and blatantly LYING! Where is the PM in this mess? With Lorraine Kerr publicly shaming Tolley… Let the games begin!

  10. tracey says:

Tolley et al will be thrilled to read the headline in the SST today, making all teachers look bad again by the actions of a few.

  11. Marlene says:

The actions of a desperate Minister and her glib media team attempting to discredit the profession… A telling story though in the other SST article

Meanwhile, constant criticism appears to be getting toTolley, who let rip at a journalist after a function in Wellington on Friday.

After a tense question and answer session with kindergarten teachers, Tolley left the venue, but when approached outside for comment, she rounded on a reporter, accusing him of bullying a sector leader and misleading them about things she had said.

Tolley refused to take questions from the reporter and walked off.
