Understatement

Posted by Trevor Mallard on August 24th, 2010

The Speaker to Bill English – that answer doesn’t show a Minister on top of his game.

Update I’ve just been given a bit off time out for calling Brownlee a size 84 chicken for refusing to answer a question on wage rates v Aussie – after he cocked them up for three weeks in a row.

    Turning tense :-(

  3. Spud says:

Key is going on and on :-(

  4. Spud says:

    Hear we go again

  5. Spud says:

Trevor didn’t do anything wrong! :o

  6. chris says:

He also just said your questions are a ‘disgrace’. Making accusations as opposed to asking questions.

  7. chris says:

LOL – Now he just said “we may have to run a questions 101″ to teach labour how to ask questions.

    Top Man the speaker!

  8. chris says:

Now he just commented that if labour “dont have the intellect to ask the hard questions they dont deserve to be in the house”

  9. Spud says:

    Darn it :-( I knew I shouldn’t have stopped watching :-(
Don’t you worry about Labour, they are a smart bunch and they will carry on. :-D

As Goff said, his quotes are checked somewhere before he can use them in the house!

    I don’t want to watch anymore :-(

    Caged or free range?

  11. BLiP says:

Lockie actually makes a good point. National Ltd™ and ACT are gifting the opposition an array of devastating opportunities and Labour turns it into a Third Form social studies classroom. Bloody hopeless.

  12. Anne says:

BLiP has got a point even if it’s a bit exaggerated. Why can’t Labour ask straight questions? Lengthy questions containing convoluted political statements play into ministers’ hands.

Interesting you were given time-out though Trevor. The Nat. MP who called Labour “sewer rats” last week wasn’t even chastised.

  13. Spud says:

I feel sorry for Trevor :-(

  14. Didn’t the speaker say if the house goes into urgency today that’s it for ejectees for the week..? Maybe you can catch up with Carter at the beach…

How many times bounced is that for you this term Trevor..?

  15. Spud says:

I was watching that and I couldn’t see any reason for Trevor to be chucked out! Unbelievable that he could be chucked out for nothing! 8O Trevor has been doing a good job!

  16. sammy says:

I agree with BliP and Anne.

The Speaker is practically offering to write the questions for you, and you guys would rather have a shout-fest.

You may be having fun, but you are not reaching the public. You must surely know this, you are smart people, so why do you keep on with the failed routines? What are you achieving?

Third-rate Ministers constantly get away with it, and Labour have nobody to blame but yourselves.

  17. Spud says:

To be fair, both sides of the house shout! 8O

  18. sammy says:

But only one side is trying to hold the government to account.

Pi55ing off the Speaker is not the object of the exercise.

  19. Spud says:

I’m sure that neither side want to do that. I think heckling is aimed at the people sitting on the opposite sides :-D
