Tim Groser is signing off a free trade deal or prelims to one with Russia. I heard on the news that NZ is the second largest exporter of butter to Russia already. Does this mean a free trade deal makes that trade smoother? I am NOT criticising the deal per se, just wondering if we are already in their in a substantial way, what further benefits are gained by FTA?

Well spotted on this FTA with Russia. It does indeed demand further scrutiny. What does NZ Inc get from this possible agreement that it does not already have?
What is Russia asking for in return? Is that acceptable to NZers?
