I ecall first seeing Max Merritt and the Meteors with one of Joe Brown’s Miss NZ shows in the mid 60’s and then moonlighting as as a barman when the played at the Pacific Hotel in Hastings in the early 1970’s. They had a drummer with a couple of fingers missing – I think his name was Johnny Dick but as I recall he did not look like the guy in that video.

They had a successful hit with 1By the Devil I was Tempted.
