New Zealand Music Month 4- Shayne Carter

Posted by Grant Robertson on May 4th, 2010

Shayne Carter is still producing great music nearly 20  30 years on from his beginnings with his schoolboy band Bored Games. After that it was the superb, uplifiting Double Happys, tragically ended with Wayne Elsley’s death. Then Straitjacket Fits and now Dimmer.

This song is my favourite Double Happys song, The Others Way. The Double Happys Best Of- Nerves is a Kiwi classic.

    Grrrreat! :-D

  2. I saw Shayne Carter in Sydney a few months ago, he was every bit the rockstar he was back in the day. NZ music remains the easiest way for me to instantly recall my home after almost eight years away.

Amazing what can be found on YouTube.
Perhaps it would have been better posted on the 7th of May.

Given that Bored Games debuted at Kaikorai’s talent quest in 1979, you might want to redo the maths here, Grant! And to think … you a future Minister of Finance and all!

@Andrew. But I thought it was 2000. What happened to that decade??
