This is a short video I did for my Youth MP facebook group. If you know any 16-18 year olds interested in international issue please share it with them.

Helen clarke being the judge kind of scared me out of doing it haha

  2. Jeremy says:

Y does it have to be an international issue. Plenty of problems at home.

  3. Tracey says:

    Dylan

Put yourself forward. You will never regret such an experience. You will get to meet Helen Clark who has an awesome personal presence, not to mention a powerful person to have in your newly developing network.

One day you might look back and think “shit, why didnt I give that a go?” Throw your hat in the ring. Your posts here show you have what it takes.

  4. Shane says:

I wonder (and hope) if any of the Youth MPs will ask a question during question time on the uptake of smoking by young people, such as:

Is the government doing or planning to take any measures to further reduce the uptake of smoking in young people, and how urgently does the government regard this matter?

(supplementary) Would the government then adopt Iain Lees-Galloway’s bill?

  5. Phil Twyford says:

    @ Dylan – I agree with Tracey.

@ Jeremy – Plenty of problems overseas too. Besides I am Labour spokesperson on international development, and disarmament, so I have a special interest in getting young people more involved in these issues.

@ Tracey – Actually Helen won’t be here for it as she is based in New York now but she is going to view the entries on the facebook page and co-judge them.

@ Shane – Good questions. Suggest you communicate directly with Iain on this: Iain.Lees-Galloway@parliament.govt.nz

Here are some tips on how to upload a video on facebook:

If you go to the Youth MP contest facebook page and click on the “video” tab it will take you to where you can upload the video. Click on upload and it will give you three options: “add from my videos”, “upload file” and “record”. Click on “upload file”. Click on “browse” and select the fil…e that you would like to upload. It should then upload. Make sure the file is less than 1024 MB.

If for some reason none of this is happening you may want to change your settings to allow “pop-ups”. To do this go to “tools” in your internet browser and click on “pop-up blocker”. Make sure this is turned on.

*Sorry should say: “select the file that you…”
