Already sold. Someone should complain to trademe or take the seller to the Disputes Tribunal or something.

  2. Waterboy says:

My god! The comments on that link were the funniest things I’ve read all day. Genuine laugh out loud stuff. Someone give that man a cheese roll!

    Good job!

  5. Monty says:

73% of us bought National Standards already according to polling on the subject. We also put a down payment when we elected National to be our Government in 2008.

  6. A Mother says:

    Lol.
    Love it.

Yep – you bought a lemon and sold the rest of us up the creek – your downpayement just screwed over the future generations – not to mention those of us living in the now – thanks for that – you should be so proud (not).

    Private schools are exempt???????

    Private schools are exempt???????

I believe so. How else would NACT get people to shift their kids from public schooling to private schooling and thus make an even higher profit if they trashed private schools the way they have just trashed public schools?

  10. Paul says:

Yes, private schools are exempt. It makes sense actually because we all know that educational outcomes are greatly influenced by socio-economic circumstances. The make up of private schools are those children who are not disadvantaged by poor housing, low income, lack of money(obviously), and cultural or educational capital. Of course they don’t need standards. People with money are obviously better and cleverer than the poor – how else could they become rich!

  11. Anne says:

I am at a loss to understand why more is not being made of the apparent exemption of private schools. If anything it is proof of Nact’s self-serving prejudices. Translated it means… we’re not going to have our children put through the National Standards test. They might fail. :D

  12. ianmac from Abu Dhabi says:

Very clever. Very funny! Trademe being passed around the NZ expats here.
I remarked to a distant past Min of Education that given the advantaged intakes of Private school, they well might be underachieving their students. So being exempt from Standards Testing, there will still be no measure to check! (Not that National testing would anyway.)

  13. Tracey says:

Tracey please do not bring MP’s children into this debate. They are not elected. Trevor

  14. A Mother says:

So the private schools can produce future scientists and make the gap between the emerging classes wider. The rich need someone to snicker at.

@Paul. I hope you’re joking please tell me you were being sarcastic!
