The governement is scaremongering, as shown by their encouraging the media to report increases of $130 a year for a car and then proposing an increase of $30.
$30 is bad enough, but why did they exaggerate more than four-fold? Because they have to fool New Zealanders into thinking that ACC is broke to justify their outrageous plans to cut cover and privatise.
Above is a screenshot and link to our ACC Works website where you can help stop National increasing your ACC costs and cutting your ACC cover.

Looks like a good site.
The Save ACC group is also pretty good for links/info/updates, all sorts.
Sorry David couldn’t resist.
The ACC Works campaign is a great project.
yep .. lower ACC payments
David – I have asked this of a couple of your colleagues and not had an answer, so I would appreciate one from you if possible please.
When you say that the Government is going to privatise ACC, do you have information to suggest that the Government is going to sell ACC?
As I have said before, unless the Government is going to sell ACC, it cannot be privatised. Opening up ACC to competition does not equal privatisation.
“As I have said before, unless the Government is going to sell ACC, it cannot be privatised. Opening up ACC to competition does not equal privatisation.”
Why don’t you go and try to explain that thinking to some kiwi families, they are smarter than you seem to give them credit for.
If something is being done by the state and then is shifted to being done by private companies your average new zealander would think “public to private – thats privatisation!!!” When something is being provided by the public sector and then is to be provided by the private sector what has happened??? Privatisation.
I guess that you are just following your orders from the ACT/Nat cheerleaders(who you seem to have copied word for word) but that argument just does not fly. It seems to take some incredible semantic backflips to arrive at that state of thinking.
Sorry if that seems blunt. But you were just trolling anyway weren’t you?
Andrew – why don’t you go and try to explain to those Kiwi families why they should subsidise the risks taken by others?
Call it trolling if you like, but I have asked the question of three Labour MPs and am still yet to receive an answer.
Be blunt, spin it however you like or dismiss others as trolls, but whatever way you cut it, unless ACC is being sold it isn’t being privatised.
