Rodney has to apologise for telling the truth about John Key when all he was doing was telling the truth and backing up Bill English.
Remember English’s comments about “John “bouncing from cloud to cloud” while he (Bill) grinds away on policy”
And btw we hear that it wasn’t the first time Rodney had made comments like this about the approach of Key and other Ministers. An Act meeting at a place I frequent most Tuesday lunchtimes?
This is slightly off topic I know, but can I ask, who’s running the country?
According to Rodney Hide, it is the ACT party, via him. According to Bill English, yesterday on Radio NZ, John Key was a hard working minister (he didn’t say Prime Minister). According to Audrey Young in the article you just posted, Bill English was the policy workhorse back in 2007. But 2007 must look a long time ago for the man from Dipton right now.
Yet on the list you provided on the 3 November had Key, Ryall, Joyce and Power as the best of the National front line.

And of course, Richard Prebble is now questioning John Key’s ability for the 2011 election, for whatever reason Prebble could have to do that.

I personally don’t rate John Key performance as Prime Minister at all; maybe he is okay in tourism, I don’t know. But if he isn’t in charge, who is, who owns the plan?

It is as if key wants Hide and co to do the dirty work..push the extreme right wing agenda. Hide has lost all credibility and Key will start to lose it also if he is not seen to be the leader..Surely any leader expects and demands loyalty? Perhaps I do not understand the ever shifting sands of politics.
I saw once on Q+A the academic (can’t remeber her name but she always stands in the middle) saying that Hide was a useful tool for Key as Key would use Hide to introduce crazy right wing ideas then the public would go mad so Key would come along and play daddy and come up with a compromise that everybody would like… Maybe Don Brash is running the country
Maybe it’s not Don Brash deciding on what policy to run the country with, but the people that funded Brash’s 2005 election campaign…
