Not to be completely outdone by Trevor, Chris Hipkins and the other fitness nuts in caucus, I completed the 2009 Kaukau Challenge on Sunday along with some enthusiastic supporters from the Ohariu electorate. It’s a (near) 5km walk (or run if you are totally insane), including an ascent to the Transmission tower atop Mount Kaukau.??

Without much training, we still finished well, but hardly in the lead pack. Thanks to the organisers at Khandallah School (who also threw a very good gala as well)?? – the run and gala are fundraisers for the school.

– They list the names of the suburbs that the Ohariu electorate has within its boundaries… Newlands, Johnsonville, Khandallah, Ngaio etc etc.
