Red Alert

Money laundering hypocrite

Posted by Trevor Mallard on September 16th, 2009

Paying the cleaner’s bill from taxpayers funds (and grumbling that there is not enough cash cause your house is so big) for the family home that is transfered out of your name for the purpose of collecting even more cash than previously - especially when there is real doubt that you were ever eligible for any of that cash.

Must be using Persil – the tory faces look whiter than white when Key/Brownlee/English try and defend the indefensible. And the heads sure go down.

And the same guy tells people who are paid a few cents over the minimum wage for working with kids with disabilities that they can’t have a wage rise for two or three years.

Hypocrite.

    Right on, Trev.

  2. Spud says:

Was English asking for more money for cleaning? :-o

  3. Trevor Mallard says:

    Yes

  4. Spud says:

Please take care not to bring families into this debate unless strictly necessary. This comment was not. Trevor

  5. Spud says:

Sorry, I crossed a line without realising it. It wasn’t actually meant as a criticism of anyone. I meant it in a I don’t understand why he doesn’t do this kind of way. But you’re right I shouldn’t have mentioned anyone.

  6. ghostwhowalksnz says:

Just because English does it doesn’t mean Red Alert has to follow. And please leave other Minister’s families out of debate. Trevor

  7. jennifer says:

I thought the PM has now bulk funded ministers for their Wellington accommodation including power and phones and Sky TV and gardening and cleaning. Is this not so?

  8. Trevor Mallard says:

Not yet and don’t know what it will cover.

  9. jabba says:

I thought we had covered Bills poor judgement

  10. Axis says:

Sorry, Jabba, clearly its not over yet. Looks like, English lied on TV1 tonight. Last year he claimed a beneficial interest in the Endeavour Trust in his pecuniary interests. He didn’t this year, but today on TV1 he said he “never” had a pecuniary interest in that trust.

So, why claim it last year and not this year?

I have no idea what legal definition of “pecuniary interest” Mr Key is using but a beneficial financial interest is a pecuniary interest in any sane person’s books. Seems some one is playing with words to save someone’s behind.

These guys clearly do not think that the rules that apply to everyone else apply to them.

  11. jabba says:

I’m just saying that this has been going on for sometime now. If he has broken a law then make an official complaint .. to the Police even. balance deleted off thread Trevor

  12. John Ryall says:

Good on you Trevor. I am still waiting to find out what hourly rate that Ministerial Services is allocating Bill for a cleaner for his Ministerial house.

With the Government’s State Sector wage freeze the cleaners cleaning his parliamentary office are currently stuck on $12.55/hour – only 5 cents an hour above the minimum wage.

  13. Trevor Mallard says:

And I’m still waiting for anyone to come on here and justify the English position. Where is Tim Ellis? What are C/T saying?

  14. Trevor Mallard says:

@John 9.42 The Crown is paying $20 per hour for the English’s cleaner.

  15. John Ryall says:

While I am pleased that the Government appreciates the value of Bill’s cleaner and pays a reasonable rate of pay, it is a bit rich freezing the wages of public hospital cleaners and saying that their claim to have their pay increased from $14.62 an hour to $15.07 is irresponsible and unreasonable.

  16. Spud says:

Bill is cleaning up as an MP. :p

  17. [...] story will last as long as English is a Minister.

  18. Sean says:

I agree Trevor, where are the usual commentators? They have been missing on this issue for quite a while.

Maybe Mr English is on his own on this one?

  19. toad says:

John Ryall said: While I am pleased that the Government appreciates the value of Bill’s cleaner and pays a reasonable rate of pay…

The $20 an hour is what the Crown pays, but I suspect that may be to the company that employs the cleaner, and that the cleaner actually gets something only slightly north of the minimum wage.

BTW, I see Audrey Young reports:

After Mr English became a minister, the same house was leased by Ministerial Services, and the rent of $700 a week paid to the trust – as well as power and cleaning – and a television was delivered to the property.

A television deleted Trevor Wonder what it cost?

  20. Draco T Bastard says:

Obviously, the rules need to change to say that if you’re married to the person that does have the trust in their name then you do have a pecuniary interest in it as you will obviously benefit from it indirectly.

Still Blinglish shouldn’t be even applying for the state subsidy for the house as neither he nor his family live in Dipton.

  21. Tim Ellis says:

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you, Mr Mallard. You have my email however and you’re welcome to email me in advance if you would like a comment from me. Unfortunately Mr Crosby, (”Bing” to his friends) doesn’t have my email address and he was unable to alert me to this post.

Having read it though, I’m not going to dignify your quite disgusting personal attacks and dirt-digging with a substantive response. I know you have made a career out of it, and I salute your courage in calling others “hypocrites”, but I have better things to do.

  22. ewww
What is the appeal of Bill English.

Rolls Bolger, Rolls Shipley, became the worst national leader ever, rolls Don Brash and is now Mr Keys deputy.

Mr Key is not THAT a bad bloke, but for god sake keep an eye on the little (deleted obscene Trevor ) to his right.

How much did the money grubbing little bludger get from (deleted Please leave families out as much as possible Trevor)

  23. ghostwhowalksnz says:

Can I send my old televisions to Englishs address ?
I think like most people we have one for each room but would get rid of some if we could.
But to know it would go to a TV deprived family like the Englishes would be much more worthwhile

  24. Spud says:

“But to know it would go to a TV deprived family like the Englishes would be much more worthwhile” – Why are they TV deprived? :o

  25. ghostwhowalksnz says:

They suddenly needed one paid for by the taxpayer.
I suppose way back TVs were status items and polticians needed one to see themselves on TV. In this day and age its ludicrous but English cant go past a freebie without coveting it

  26. Spud says:

    @ghostwhowalksnz :o OMG – LOL :-D
