A few weeks ago Red Alert was entered into the Internet Industry Awards (organised by the Liz Dengate Thrush Foundation) under the Positive societal impact category. We didn’t win, and that’s not suprising given we’re new, and we’re a political party.
The point of entering was to highlight the purpose behind Red Alert, which is to bring politics closer to people and to provide the opportunity for some real dialogue and engagement around real issues.
The feedback has been generally positive and we continue to evolve. Have a look at the video clip below, part of our entry, where we talk about the purpose of Red Alert and why it’s so important. We welcome your comments.
I do believe I heard the words “not censored”. Amongst other things that should be taken with a bushell of salt. At least there was no singing in the video, thank God.
This is brilliant. It almost seems like they’re taking the piss out of it at the same time as celebrating a great site.
Good on you, but…………
Dalziel shouldn’t have said “it’s uncensured” (as does Fenton), Twyford should have placed some ‘quotes’ when he says “it’s dialogue”, and you yourself Trev (“Mr Eraser” himself) shouldn’t have said “it’s unmediated”.
For the rest: keep up the good work!
I don’t think it is fair to say the sight is censored. Any blog needs moderation if it isn’t to turn into a swill that has no purpose. This site despite its origins is pretty open to people of different politicla back grounds posting their opinions.
Grant kind of looks like a young Lange when he stands next to that picture.
I agree with Geek. A complete lack of moderation would just destroy things.
So, when’s National going to start “Blue Rinse”?
I don’t think the blog’s censored. There’s a difference between censorship and moderation. Moderation is necessary; the removal of offensive attacks and comments. Censorship would be the removal of comments because they are the “wrong opinion”, with the intent of stifling debate. That certainly doesn’t happen here.
Great job!
Nicola, yeah right.
I agree Jarbury Geek, and Nicola with your point on moderation. It’s one of the things that sets red alert apart from other political blogs like kiwiblog. I went there once (only because I had to) and never again. You can’t get intelligent comments out of anyone if you let them all spout ridiculous, childish and un-called for personal attacks all the time. If people don’t want to be civil here then they should find another blog to troll.
Good work on the blog and keep it up!
Hi there, I just found your blog hunting on Google as I am researching some material on yeast infections. Seems like a cool blog so I bookmarked you and will revisit tomorrow to enjoy a more indepth read when i have more time. Thank you.
