When is the draw done and how is it announced?

  2. Philip says:

Hoping Garrett’s bill gets drawn for the entertainment factor

  3. Idiot/Savant says:

Noon, and its not. In the absence of formal announcement, its left to bloggers; I’ll be posting the results as soon as I get them.

In the longer term, the results will show up here:

    http://www.parliament.nz/en-NZ/PB/Legislation/Bills/Ballot/

But I have no idea how quick they are about it.

Maybe Rodney Hide will threaten to resign over that one as well?

(Oh, and Katene’s bill looks familiar…)

  5. Idiot/Savant says:

Credit Reforms (Responsible Lending) Bill (Charles Chauvel)
Climate Change (Government Vehicle Procurement) Bill (Kennedy Graham)
Education (Freedom of Association) Amendment Bill (Roger Douglas)

Looks like we’re getting VSM then…

  6. rjs131 says:

Great for VSM. I am looking forward to the student unions and the left blogs saying why freedom of association applies to everyone other than university students.

  7. Gooner says:

Brilliant news. The NZBORA protects freedom of association so let’s see this put in place.

  8. hullabaloo says:

how long before we get a post from Hipkins and Robertson and other SA presidents talking about how wonderful it is to compel students to join an organisation they don’t want, need or like

  9. Brad Heap says:

When will these be voted on for first reading? Tonight? Remember Paula Bennett was a Massey Student Union president so ask her what her views on VSM are.

  10. Brad Heap says:

“Great for VSM. I am looking forward to the student unions and the left blogs saying why freedom of association applies to everyone other than university students.”

I am looking forward to Act explain why a party polling 1% on the polls is able to hold the country to Ransom over Maori seats and now this nonsense.

  11. mjwkiwi says:

Why are there so few Labour members with Bills? Shouldn’t there be 43 from Labour alone??

  12. Trevor Mallard says:

Will probably come up the first week after the next recess on wednesday. depaends on what else is in front of it at that stage.

  13. Gooner says:

It’s called MMP Brad. You might have heard of it but probably didn’t vote in the referendum: you would have been about 8.

  14. Madeleine says:

Excellent news re the VSM Bill.

  15. MP_Labour says:

I think that it will be the same as usual. National’s and ACT’s bills will be passed, everyone elses defeated.
