Police have upped the ante this week in the investigation into the Brash emails. People are being interviewed and some previously interviewed reinterviewed. Like most I hope they get the culprit.

On the other hand Trevor, the culprit has made a huge contribution to the literature available to political science students all around the world.
It is notoriously difficult to get material of that frankness from the actual political work space. The reasons are obvious – the e-mails had implications for lobby groups, spin doctors (local and off shore) plus a range of senior National Party political figures.
Trevor, do you think the police have mobilised again because of Don Brash’s return to public life?
Like most I hope they get the culprit.
Why?
I haven’t seen any evidence to suggest that Nicky Hagar’s claim, that he had more than one source, is false. So the hunt for ‘the culprit’ seems inheriently flawed.
I’d also like to know why you would like the police to collar ‘the culprit’.
I suspect because the enemy of your enemy, may in this case turn out not to be one of your friends.
I Suspect has it. And Arts no I think the Police made a decision some time ago to try and nail those involved.
Let’s have a think about who benefited most from the whole affair…..
